About Gavin
With over 25 years’ HSE experience in the Oil and Gas and aircraft industry, nearly 20 years of which was in international locations, Gavin brings his desire and expertise to ensure the health, safety and welfare of Well-Safe Solutions’ employees and its operational activities.
Gavin started his career in the Royal Air Force where, for 13 years, he was an Electrical and Instruments Technician working on Tornado fighter jets. Following his departure from the RAF, he relocated to Saudi Arabia providing technical training to the Royal Saudi Air Force for 11 years, moving into the QHSE arena in the latter years.
Following his transition into the Oil and Gas industry, upon his return to the UK, Gavin worked with Weatherford UK as a Senior HSE Advisor, leading a small team and overseeing Weatherford’s HSSE Policy and Management Systems for their Drilling Services, Wireline, Tubulars and Pressure Control (BOP) product lines. After some time spent in Canada as an OHSE Manager for a large aircraft company, he found his way back to the UK oil and gas industry in a variety of new roles. Taking on Group QHSE Manager with TWMA, Projects HSE Advisor with Subsea 7 and working with Shell on their IRM projects. Another role included General Manager for Apex Industrial Chemicals where he was responsible for the design and implementation of their QHSE Management System (certified to ISO 9001 and 14001) and then laterally with Rowan Drilling (now Valaris) as the UK HSE Manager. Acting as the prime focal point for all government regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements for that country, including new country entries and facilitating the structure and the successful management of the Emergency Response Protocols.
