About Ruth

An experienced geophysicist by background, Ruth is Subsurface Manager at Well-Safe Solutions, with a vision to build and develop a world-class domestic and international subsurface offering.

Ruth and her team contribute greatly to Well-Safe Solutions’ end-to-end service for well P&A. She believes the secret to successful P&A begins with developing an understanding of the subsurface, which enables plug placement optimisation without compromising containment. She leads a suite of subsurface professionals bringing geological, geophysical, petrophysical, reservoir engineering and geomechanical expertise to any project of any size.

The collaborative relationship Ruth has established between her team and the Well Engineering department enables both to deliver bespoke solutions which satisfy not only the subsurface isolation criteria and well engineering requirements, but also realise cost and time savings for our clients.

Ruth has spent over two decades providing exploration and development geophysical support to various UK and Norwegian assets in the North Sea for energy majors including Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, Apache Corporation and CNR International Ltd.

Ruth has a first-class Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Geology from the Camborne School of Mines alongside an MSc in Geology and, most recently, an MSc with distinction in Decommissioning from the University of Aberdeen.
