Location:
Well-Safe Solutions, Aberdeen, though they will be expected to go offshore to company Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) and may be required to work at other company locations or supplier’s premises as required.
The postholder must be able to attend our global headquarters in Aberdeen.

Reporting Line:
The Rig Manager will report directly to the Operations Director.
Role:
The Rig Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned MODU, ensuring all instructions and tasks are completed in a Safe, Efficient and Timely manner also responsible for providing mentoring to onshore MODU support team and offshore MODU management team.
Key responsibilities:
The Rig Manager will be required to:
- Manage and report on all aspects of MODU including Finance, Operations, Maintenance, QHSE, Training, Competence and Commercial aspects.
- Ensure all Third-Party services are sourced and managed to protect the interests of the company, its employees and customers.
- Lead the development of succession and career plans for both onshore support team and offshore management team, review and update on a semiannual basis.
- Conduct pre-embarkment meetings, at heliport, with offshore crews at least once every two crew cycles.
- Undertake scheduled MODU visit on a monthly basis to monitor operational performance, carry-out inspections and to communicate with the offshore crews.
- Mentor and coach offshore MODU management team in the development, preparation, use and reporting of operating systems and management reports.
- Attend and pro-actively participate in onshore meetings and training events.

- Well Target cost is achieved within key performance indicators
- Zero non-conformance reports exceeding close out targets
- MODU crew competence average is ≥ 90%
HSE Culture of Excellence
- Actively promote and engage in the use of Well-Safe Solutions continuous improvement programs.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on all hi-potential reported observations, unsafe practices/conditions, near misses.
- Lead the investigation and review of all major incidents report promptly to the Operations Director.
- Lead MODU support team in doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute positively to continual improvement activities.
- Lead Target Cost improvement initiatives, review and provide feedback on recommendations within 14 days of receipt.
- Positively engage with industry associations to collaborate in sharing of best practice while promote the company and its capability.

Knowledge & Competency:
Essential:
- 10 years drilling experience, two years proven experience as Rig Manager.
- 3 years prior experience in managing UK North Sea P&A operations
- UK offshore survival & mandatory training
- IWCF Level 3 & 4 Drilling Surface/Subsea certification
Desired:
- First degree in Engineering or Petroleum discipline
- Business management qualification
